Human Performance Research

Identifying innovative ways to promote health, safety, performance and readiness.

With specialists in soldier resiliency, health and mission readiness research and development, Leidos leverages its team of physicians, nurses, psychologists, epidemiologists, and PhD scientists to design and implement clinical studies that identify innovative ways to promote the health, safety, performance and readiness of the warfighter.

Optimizing Warfighter Performance

With a singular focus on maximizing performance and survivability, Leidos supports a wide range of human performance research areas such as physiology, resilience, and occupational and environmental health.

To determine methods of reducing injuries and preserving and enhancing individual performance, our scientists study the physiological and cognitive effects of environmental and operational stressors on military personnel. We also evaluate the potential effects of environmental and occupational toxins before they impact warfighter performance, as well as conduct investigative research studies to help to establish return-to-duty criteria when service members are wounded or become ill.

Outside the laboratory, we develop and maintain databases rich in clinical data that we utilize to create in-depth analyses of warfighter health issues. Leidos epidemiologists and statisticians help identify post-deployment symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries to improve physician diagnosis and treatment efforts. We further apply our expertise in analytics and medical modeling to determine the causes of diseases, illnesses, accidents and injuries to assess and advance the psychological screening process of prospective warfighters, and to help predict warfighter attrition risk.
